Emily Higgins: The Mulberry Tree

The Mulberry Tree - February 12th features Valentine's Day songs - February 5, 2012

Hello!

On The Mulberry Tree this Sunday, February 12th I'll play songs for you that will help get us thinking about Valentine's Day, arriving two days after the show airs. Remember that Valentine's Day isn't just about romantic love. It can also be a great time to also acknowledge friends and family, and let them know just how much they mean to you. That sentiment will be reflected in the first song of this Sunday's show, an original tune from my songwriting Colorado compadre Randy Ricks. The artists to be featured on the Valentine show will be:

Randy Ricks
Laurie Lewis
Shawn Colvin
Eva Cassidy
Elvin Bishop
The Weepies
Jimmy Lafave
Cosy Sheridan
Michael Nesmith
Michael Nesmith (with the First National Band)
Linda Ronstadt (2 tracks)
Ben Winship and Brian Wicklund (2 tracks)
Greg Becker

The Mulberry Tree airs at 10 p.m. CST on KSMU, Springfield Missouri's NPR affiliate station, at the following locations: Springfield - 91.1, Branson - 90.5, West Plains - 90.3, Mountain Grove - 88.7, Joplin - 98.9 and Neosho - 103.7. AND we also stream live at www.ksmu.org
Happy listening!
